Your Role With Us:Monitors and participates in all aspects of the credentialing process, including appointment, reappointment, privileging, provisional status, and temporary privileges, to ensure accurate and timely credentialing.Collecting and analyzing information, preparing files for the approval process, and ensuring that credentialing and privileging files are kept accurate and current.Supports and promotes the vision and strategic plan of Salem Hospital in a leadership role; Maximizes the use of automation for all processes conducted in the department.Assists in the orientation of new Medical Staff Members and privileged practitioners.Provides professional and technical assistance to the Medical Staff Leadership, including documenting Medical Staff meeting minutes accurately, clearly and concisely in a format compatible with what is expected of a JCAHO-accredited hospital.Provides management leadership during the absence of the Manager of Medical Staff Services.Assists in the planning and organizing of a comprehensive program to assure continued accreditation by both The Joint Commission (JCAHO) and the National Commission on Healthcare Quality (NCQA), as well as other State and Federal governing bodies.Assists in continual evaluation and process improvement to ensure compliance with all governing bodies, including the interpretation and execution of such regulatory guidelines.Total Rewards Offerings: Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations and professional growth.Relocation assistance available for qualified positionsFull comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansBasic and voluntary life insuranceShort and long-term disabilityLive Well Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(K) retirement plan with employer contributions.Generous paid time off (PTO) accrual and holiday pay Onsite fitness center with 24/7 badge accessEducation assistance programPublic service loan forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer https://studentaid.gov/Food and drink discounts in the cafeteriaImpressive discounts offered by Nike, Adidas, Carhartt and othersBackground/Expertise:Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred; Four (4) years experience in a health care or administrative support setting may be considered equivalent to an Associate's Degree at the discretion of the hiring manager. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a medical related setting preferred.Must attain within three (3) years, and maintain, Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification unless arrangements are made otherwise with the Manager of the Medical Staff Office. Have or be able to gain considerable knowledge of medical staff services principles and possess the ability to develop and implement methods and procedures for improving and facilitating credentialing processes utilizing automation. Exhibit cooperative working, leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal tactfully and courteously with others, while upholding the organization's principles of quality and patient safety.Ability to appropriately handle a variety of problems and situations, sometimes of a critical and urgent nature, and to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Handle stressful situations in a professional manner, possessing conflict management skills; Willingness and ability to work independently with little or no supervision; demonstrated self-starter.Must be able to read and understand legal and other regulatory documents; Must have a working knowledge of various types of computer software program and office equipment.Must possess a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal, in order to communicate effectively and professionally, and to compose correspondence and compile reports.Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is an equal opportunity employer.
