The Facilities Engineer - Data Center Operations is responsible for providing technical leadership for the Freehold Data Center facilities operation and maintenance team, reporting to the Associate Director - Data Center Operations. This role is also responsible for providing service and support (24/7/365) for the critical support infrastructure within Verizon's Data Centers. Critical support infrastructure includes but is not limited to: Uninterruptible power supplies, large battery systems, Engine Generators and Generator controls, medium voltage switchgear (34,500 volts to 208 volts), Switchgear Station Batteries, Motor Control Centers, Building Management Systems, Power Quality Monitoring, Computer room Power Distribution Units, Transformers, Fire systems, Circuit Breakers, HVAC, Energy Management, and all related Electrical Systems. HVAC systems that include cooling towers, chillers, pumps, CRAH, CRAC units. You will be responsible for but not limited to:
What we're looking for... The Facilities Manager must have training and experience covering leadership, project management, technical expertise, and hands-on experience. A degree is not required, but the role does require a deep understanding of how infrastructure equipment and systems in the facility work and interact from perspectives of planning and growth, design and application, capacity vs load, normal vs abnormal operation, failure modes, maintenance, and repairs. The selected candidate will also serve as a Lead Engineer and Subject Matter Expert on the team. You possess excellent troubleshooting skills and deep knowledge of critical infrastructure. Along with working knowledge of budgeting and financial systems, laws, codes and standards, peripheral systems, equipment, and conditions including architectural, civil, MEP, building construction and maintenance, security, safety and environmental, IT, and network.
