GENERAL FUNCTION:
A Sr. Product Manager leads all aspects of product strategy, distribution, pricing, and education including the design, development, and marketing of new products for one or more Divisions, while crossing organizational boundaries. Reviews and modifies existing products. Seeks new sales channels to maximize profitability and meet customer needs and leads roll out, education and implementation efforts. Sets strategic direction for the product and acts as a champion and advocate internally on value proposition and impact to business.

This role is responsible for providing connectivity between product and retail channels, supporting product distribution in the retail channel, utilizing feedback from the field to help improve performance, etc.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, enhance, and manage products and/or programs to meet goals and increase profitability.
  • Review new developments in company markets, evaluate potential products, and recommend the development of new products or the modification of existing products.
  • Coordinate and direct the design and development of new products and the modification of existing products, in conjunction with the department(s)appropriate internal partners involved.
  • Develops a marketing strategy and establishes marketing objectives for each product/service.
  • Works with Marketing/Public Relations/delivery to develop effective sales programs.
  • Serve as key focal point for analysis and product pricing of select products and services.
  • Evaluate the success of new products and implements changes in the product or marketing strategy.
  • Utilizes new trends and developments in the market plan to shape product and service offerings. Ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained on all existing products.
  • Drive the development and roll out of product education while leveraging marketing and education to implement changes.
  • Interprets and enforces product policies and guidelines across affiliates, departments and customers.
  • Responsible for ongoing oversight and management of fees for assigned area. Drives and approves fee changes for LOB, ensuring proper process is initiated to implement changes.
  • Monitor industry trends and perform essential market research.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May supervise and/or lead and direct work of more junior team members.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor' s degree in marketing or related business field.
  • 7- 10+ years of product management and development experience, preferably within the financial industry.
  • Excellent presentation and written communications skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills and project management experience.
  • Strong PC skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Extended viewing of CRT screen.
