Niacc-Avitech Technologies ("Niacc"), is HEICO Repair Group's west coast operation and repair station specializing in the overhaul and repair of aircraft components for regional and commercial aircraft. Niacc also manufactures various components for a wide range of aerospace customers in addition to manufacturing components for defense and government users.

The Mechanical Engineer shall report directly to the General Manager/VP and will have the overall responsibility of daily planning, communication and coordination with General Manager on new product status as well as training of the proper teardown and build up techniques of newly developed units to Production Technicians. This individual shall drive the development of new capability and use whatever means or tools are available in that effort.

Additionally, this individual shall accomplish the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Ensure work orders are opened for New Development items.
  • Maintain an organized filing/development system for the tracking of undergoing R&D or new product development.
  • Coordinate communications with the Customer through the Salesperson as needed during the development period.
  • As needed, travel as a Technical advisor to assist Sales personnel at the customer location.
  • Create data packages to include drawings, CMM's, lab reports, etc. as necessary to comply with Niacc-Avitech Technologies Quality System requirements.
  • Communicate with suppliers as needed to determine correct material requirements are being identified during reverse engineering phases.
  • Report on a regular basis to the General Manager any issues or concerns relating to the development of new harness capability.
  • When appropriate this individual shall oversee the efforts of assistant(s) that may be assigned to this area.
  • Represent Niacc-Avitech in a professional manner when working with its customers, vendors and company personnel.

  • High-level leadership and decision-making skills
  • Possess basic to mid level technical skill set
  • Able to motivate, influence, and train people
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication English skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • 3 - 5 years experience in a similar capacity
  • Must be able to follow deadlines and work under pressure in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels of professionals in the organization
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to read and interpret Technical Data, Blue Prints, and Documents.
  • Self starter who will work with little Supervision.
  • Must be flexible to work long hours including weekends as needed
  • Excellent attendance and a positive attitude
  • Highly responsive to internal and external customer requirements, with a high attention for detail
  • Aggressive "can-do" attitude
  • Passion to succeed
  • 3 - 5 years working experience with computer aided design programs (Solid Works, CAD, etc)
