Position Responsibilities

As a Senior UX Researcher, you'll drive the research strategy for two of our flagship ERP products, focusing on understanding the complex workflows of enterprise users and identifying opportunities to streamline their experience. You'll balance deep, strategic research initiatives with tactical studies to support our product evolution. Working closely with UX Designers and Product Management teams, you'll translate technical complexity into clear user insights that drive product decisions. Your research will directly impact how tens of thousands of users manage their daily operations across the product modules.

What You'll Do
  • Design and execute mixed-methods research combining qualitative insights (user interviews, observational studies) with quantitative data (surveys, analytics)
  • Lead end-to-end research projects ranging from extensive workflow studies to rapid usability evaluations
  • Conduct contextual inquiries and task analysis with enterprise users to map complex business processes
  • Partner with Product Managers to identify research opportunities that inform product strategy and roadmap decisions
  • Present research findings to product teams and senior leadership, translating technical insights into actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with UX Designers to translate research insights into improved user workflows within sprint cycles
  • Maintain a research repository of enterprise user insights and create reusable templates for common research scenarios
  • Build and maintain a user research contact database, including tracking engagement frequency, and managing research demographics
  • Facilitate research planning sessions with cross-functional teams to align on priorities, methodologies, and strategic impact of research initiatives
  • Partner with UX Operations to optimize research processes, including participant management, research guidelines, and tooling recommendations while following research best practices

Qualifications


  • 6-8 years of UX research experience, with at least 3 years researching enterprise or B2B software
  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Cognitive Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Portfolio demonstrating impact of research on enterprise software design
  • Demonstrated expertise in these research methods:
  • Contextual inquiry and workflow analysis
  • Usability testing of complex systems
  • Survey design and quantitative analysis
  • Journey mapping and service blueprinting
  • Strong ability to analyze diverse research data sets, identify patterns, and translate complex findings into compelling business recommendations that drive product decisions
  • Experience researching for ERP, financial software, or similar enterprise systems
  • Strong foundation in information architecture and complex system design
  • Proficiency in research, analysis, and design tools (e.g., Lyssna, Gainsight, Echoes, Figma/FigJam, Miro)
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills

Compensation Information

The U.S. salary range for this position is $68500.00 - $119750.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
