Job Description:

The Manager, Product Services is a member of the Product Management and Development (PMD) department. The manager is responsible for overseeing commercial insurance product filings and coordinating product management services provided by PMA to affiliated Old Republic companies.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead a team of regulatory consultants responsible for managing product filings, providing coaching, mentorship, and strategic direction.


  • Oversee the coordination and submission of product filings to State Departments of Insurance, securing necessary regulatory approvals for new and modified products.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve best practices for the product filings process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Evaluate current repositories for filing records, and policy rates, rules and forms. Assess alternatives and implement changes to optimize storage, retrieval, and management of these critical documents.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, ensuring the company is compliant with state and federal requirements for product filings.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for affiliated Old Republic companies receiving product management support from PMA. Ensure service delivery aligns with the needs of affiliated companies. Act as the point of escalation for any service-related issues or concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution of challenges. Develop and track KPIs to measure the success of services provided to affiliated companies.


  • Establish and maintain documentation for service processes, onboarding procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure consistency and transparency for all involved stakeholders.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new affiliated companies, working with other members of PMD to assess their product management needs, and develop tailored plans to meet those needs through the coordination of services.
  • Establish and provide filing standards and guidelines, ensuring all product filings adhere to internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and monitor filings made by third-party vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Respond to questions regulatory compliance, providing guidance on filing processes, state-specific requirements, and other product-related concerns.
  • Coordinate access to critical resources such as APCIA, FMCSA, ISONet, Mozart, NCCI, ODEN, ReferenceConnect, state rating bureaus, and Wolters Kluwer.
  • Ensure smooth integration and access to policy writing systems, troubleshooting access issues and ensuring continuous service.
  • Provide applicable taxes, assessments, and surcharges related to product offerings, ensuring accurate application and compliance.
  • Coordinate ISO and workers compensation policy reporting.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory data calls, ensuring timely and accurate submission of data required by state departments and other regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions on internal tools, filing processes, and accessing necessary resources. Create knowledge-sharing materials to facilitate self-service where applicable.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.

Requirements:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in commercial lines filings and insurance operations. Experience working with multiple operating companies, general agents or program managers is preferred. Experience working with both admitted and non-admitted products is beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory processes and systems for product filings, including familiarity with state Departments of Insurance and industry-specific filing tools. Experience with FilingRamp beneficial.
  • Proficiency with insurance-related systems and third-party portals, including policy writing systems, SERFF, APCIA, FMCSA, ISONet, Mozart, NCCI, ODEN and ReferenceConnect.
  • Proven experience leading a team, with a focus on regulatory compliance, process execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated sound customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with several internal and external parties are essential.
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Adobe
  • Able to travel.
