Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for the Manufacturing Engineer - Bleach Plant ME our Palatka, Florida facility. Located just south of Jacksonville and west of St. Augustine, FL, the Palatka mill employs about 850 people has two kraft and four tissue paper machines and produces kraft liner, bath tissue and paper towel products sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names. The Manufacturing Engineer will work in our Pulp, Power, and Recovery department, reporting to the Product Stream Leader.

The successful candidate will have leadership responsibility for the safe and environmentally compliant operation of R8/R10, Bleach Plant, Acid/Caustic Offloading, and stock processing equipment into the Bleached HD storage. This position will provide technical support and expertise to area operators. This position will also work and coordinate closely with the area reliability coordinator, asset availability leader and reliability/maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and effective spending.

Our Team

The Palatka mill and its products are a critical part of GP's Consumer Products portfolio, including high-profile Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, Brawny, and Sparkle brands. GP has invested heavily at Palatka in recent years to deliver competitive tissue and towel products including a new towel paper machine. The mill also features two Kraft paper machines and recent investments in a state-of-the-art Daily Operations Center (DOC) - a singular control hub for our asset monitoring. With more than 950 team members, the mill is highly strategic operation for GP and a foundational part of the local community and economy.

Located 45 minutes west of the beautiful beaches of St. Augustine, the mill is nestled in outskirts of the growing city of Palatka. Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, and Gainesville are approximately one hour away, and Orlando is only two hours! What You Will Do
* Lead the implementation of complete asset strategies and operator basic care by sharing ownership with operators and technicians to operate, maintain and improve area performance
* Provide technical expertise and share knowledge with Master & Process technicians, Shift Capability Leaders, Asset Availability Leader (AAL), Reliability Coordinator, and other shift Leaders
* Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of safety, asset reliability, cost optimization, quality capability, productivity, and capital planning/execution
* Lead the effort to identify, investigate, recommend, and implement equipment improvements, new systems, and process changes to improve productivity, yield, quality and/or reduce costs/safety risks
* Engage Engineering and Project Management resources on capital improvement projects
* Working with Shift Leaders, operators/technicians identify and address knowledge, performance gaps in their work areas
* Lead support personnel resolving short/long-term reliability issues creating a "standardize & simplify" mindset. Leading RCFAs, mental models, 5 dimensions and work processes
* Detailed involvement in financial planning for the area
* Engage with Environmental team to resolve outstanding or future state challenges
* Lead and drive Process Safety Management program for the area

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* five (5) or more years of experience leading a Paper/Fiber manufacturing process.
* Detailed experience managing projects.

* Two (2) or more years of experience working within a Paper, Pulp, Power & Recovery segment
* Possess working knowledge of ClO2 Production, Bleaching Chemistry, and Process Safety Management
* Experience applying reliability concepts as they relate to asset strategies
