IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Client Data Research Intern in our Rock Island, IL office. As a Client Data Research Intern you will be responsible for research, update, and clean up basic client data in our systems. This includes verifying and correcting client names, addresses, websites, business classifications, billing locations, and contact information. The position will help maintain the accuracy and integrity of our client database, supporting our accounting operations, marketing, and business development teams. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience over the course of 10-18 months.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Research and validate client information including names, physical locations, billing addresses, websites, and business classifications

  • Update and clean up existing client records in the database to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Identify and correct inconsistencies, errors, or outdated information in the client database

  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, BD/sales, billing, etc.) to ensure client information is up-to-date and aligns with current needs

  • Conduct regular audits of the client database to maintain data integrity

  • Assist in segmenting clients based on business classification or other attributes for targeted communication and reporting

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client data in accordance with company policies

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry

  • Experience with CRM systems or database management tools is a plus

  • Excellent research skills, including familiarity with online directories and business information sources

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education and Experience

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor's Degree required

  • Experience in data cleaning, research, or data entry roles preferred

  • Familiarity with business classification systems like NAICS or SIC preferred

  • Prior experience in professional services or B2B environment preferred
