RN, Clinical Documentation Specialist, Full Time Days
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for ensuring data collections and documentation practices are accurate through education, auditing, support and outcomes/report analysis. Position provides guidance to the clinicians and non-clinicians interacting regularly with physicians, management, and case management staff ensuring clinical documentation practices are up to date, consistent, accurate and efficient. Position conducts studies as necessary demonstrating identified improvements in clinical documentation processes and ensures compliance to state and regulatory guidelines.
EDUCATION:
BSN for Registered Nurse, current/valid State of New Jersey license or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE:
5 years RN clinical experience, inpatient hospital setting, demonstrated knowledge working with clinical indicators, reviews cases, reconciles CDIS accounts and answers any HIM related questions. Knowledge of disease process, knowledge of anatomy and phys
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and concepts effectively to physicians, management, and employees (clinicians.) Ability to function independently and effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment and to affect change. Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and issues from a variety of perspectives and understand the legal, reimbursement, and impact of those decisions.
