Overview

The Mathematics Department at Clarkson University invites applications for a Teaching Track Assistant Professor position. We seek candidates who are not only outstanding educators and researchers but also contribute positively to the department and the broader university community. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in data science, partial differential equations, dynamical systems, math biology, computational math, math modeling, math education or other areas that enhance our existing departmental strengths.

Responsibilities

    Teach a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Advise, mentor undergraduate students
  • Teach 6 courses per year
  • This is a teaching-focused position, but candidates are expected to engage in some research and contribute to departmental and university service
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty to design and refine curriculum that aligns with departmental goals and advances student learning outcomes


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D in Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, or a related scientific field by the start date

Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the graduate level is highly desirable

Ability to mentor undergraduate students in research
