As an Architectural Designer in the Dallas office, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful projects for clients. We are searching for innovative Designers with experience creating engaging spaces for Hospitality, and Multi-family Residential clients, and/or Workplaces for Technology, Financial Services Firms, and Professional Services Firms.

What You Will Do

  • Lead architectural deliverables on projects, working with Design Director(s), Technical Director(s), and project team(s) for all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production

  • Provide creative direction to design teams

  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives

  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions

  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings

  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination

  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

  • Advance the understanding that design resilience is the responsibility of every person at Gensler

  • Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve

  • Champion Gensler's diversity and inclusion goals with respect to staff, partners, and consultants

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program

  • 10+ years of relevant architecture and design experience, with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale(Hospitality Multi-family Residential and/or Workplaces for Technology, Financial Services Firms, and Professional Services Firms)

  • Must be proficient in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Parametric Modeling, Sketch-up, 3D Studio Max, VRay, and Adobe Suite

  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes

  • Strong knowledge of the design process

  • Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas

  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly

  • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

  • Creative Initiator who brings curiosity, enthusiasm and a "can do" attitude

  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills

  • Licensed / Registered Architect

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
