Job responsibility includes repairing and maintaining heavy duty trucks, trailers, yard tractors, cars, pickups, vans and the truck garage equipment. Required Qualifications
- Experience: 6-12 months in a garage setting or relevant vocational training
- Technical Proficiency:
- Skilled in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Experience with tire/wheel breakdown, assembly, balancing, and alignment
- Able to perform diagnostics on electrical, fuel, lubrication, and brake systems, as well as repairs on differentials, clutches, suspensions, transmissions, and steering
- Familiar with trailer repair procedures
- Tools: Must have tools to support general Class 8 truck and trailer repairs
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Communication: Effective oral and written skills for team collaboration
- Documentation: Competent in processing and documenting information
- Certifications:
- ASE Medium/Heavy Duty certification (within one year of hire)
- EPA air conditioning certification (within 30 days of hire)
- McKee Foods LTO (Lift Truck Operator) license (within 90 days of hire)
- Availability: Willing to work overtime, alternative shifts, and travel for training or improvement events
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience performing heavy duty truck and trailer maintenance or equivalent education with a Diploma in Diesel and Truck Technology from an accredited Technical School
- General computer knowledge and skills
- Certified Welder
- A Class A CDL may be required based on business needs
