Responsible for assisting the team in performing tasks related to patient care and department operations, including, but not limited to assisting provision of initial fitness assessments for new clients, progression and adaptation of exercise regimens, maintenance of statistical data as assigned, participation in leading individual and group exercise sessions, participation in program development and facility/department initiatives as assigned. Responsibilities A day in the life of an Exercise Physiologist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: 1. Performs duties related to patient care as directed by therapist which can include: safe transfers and guarding techniques utilizing cues and assistance, obtaining vital signs, preparation of treatment area, obtaining equipment needed, and set up of driver training cars. Leads individual or group exercise activities for clients in wellness/maintenance programs including first session assessments and determines exercise prescription, implements and oversees exercise prescription and progression, observes participants during exercise for signs of stress; reports results of exercise sessions. Accurate and timely clinical documentation on but not limited to individual or group activities for clients in wellness/maintenance programs. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Graduate of an accredited program with a degree in exercise physiology.
2. Minimum one year of experience in a clinical medical environment. 3. Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 4. Knowledge in use with exercise equipment. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Previous experience working in a fitness environment or with individuals with disabilities.
2. Experience working in cardiac and pulmonary fields. Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
1. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - ACLS
