Summary

The Portfolio Director, Veterinary Diagnostics is responsible for developing & executing the category strategy, go-to-market plan, technology roadmap, financial budget and key performance indicators for their assigned category and for aligned company-wide initiatives. The role is tasked with maximizing category profitability by first working on an overall category strategy aligned with a new/emerging partnership with one of the industry leaders in the space. Over time, responsibilities will expand to include management of a broader selection of category products & partnerships, as well as driving preferred mix, product innovation and technology development.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes the financial state, supplier performance, product mix, and market growth opportunities of the portfolio to feed into strategic/tactical plans.

  • Develops and drives the execution of the category strategy, budget and key performance indicators.

  • Leads cross-functional planning between supplier relations, technology, legal/regulatory, pricing, operations & commercial partnerships to enable effective market growth and uptake of category offerings.

  • Clearly communicates category strategy/tactics within the organization with intent of gaining alignment and engagement among key internal stakeholders, including North American leadership, cross functional partners, and individual contributors.

  • Develops and is responsible for revenue & margin contributions, operating expenses, inventory budgets and forecasts, adjusting plans to ensure targets are met.

  • In partnership with commercial & technology teams, builds and implements the go-to-market plan and promotions / campaigns to drive awareness, engagement & financial results of the category.

  • Responsible for gathering market, customer, competitor & category intelligence to inform planning & decisions.

  • Develops a deep partnership with internal stakeholders to translate feedback into planning and campaigns.

  • Builds and maintains top-level relationships with partner(s) in the category.

  • Drives new products, new partnerships and category optimization strategy in conjunction with Proprietary Brands team.

  • Supports future acquisition growth initiatives.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Operations Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Experience

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in product management, business development, supplier management, supply chain / operations, marketing or similar role

  • Human or Animal Healthcare industry experience preferred

  • Veterinary Diagnostics industry experience preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong drive to achieve results

  • Demonstrated analytical ability and financial acumen

  • Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and influence adoption of prescribed actions

  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills across a large variety of audiences

  • Manage multiple projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving

  • Navigating in a matrix organization with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders

  • Experience building strategic relationships

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

15% travel required

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.

However, the pay range for this position is as follows. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive

$107,500.00 - $199,600.00
