The Opportunity:

We are actively seeking a Senior Manager of Housing Operations to lead the planning, organization, analysis, and direction of housekeeping activities, including routine maintenance for UCF Housing Operations, which involves Main Campus, Towers, Northview, and supporting university-wide functions. You will also focus on resident satisfaction through effective communication, guidance, and issue resolution. This role serves as the primary point of contact with colleagues, students, and other Housing stakeholders, and represents Facilities Operations.

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee housekeeping and routine maintenance operations for UCF Housing, including room turns each semester, planning the rigorous summer process, vendor/contractor scheduling, project management, and budget oversight. Ensure compliance with contractual and funding mandates and report on budgets to the UCF Convocation Board and DHRL.

  • Ensure team preparedness with training, equipment, and supplies. Oversee vendor selection and manage personnel tasks, including regulatory compliance and record-keeping for DHRL.

  • Inspect housing facilities regularly, monitor project progress, and update campus planning reports. Engage stakeholders to address facility needs and improve service standards.

  • Manage budgets for housekeeping while monitoring and adjusting expenditures to ensure efficiency. Report on unit expenses and align staffing levels with university standards.

  • Direct basic maintenance activities for UCF housing communities. Develop policies, preventive maintenance programs, and coordinate utility and resource needs. Participate in contract negotiations and facility design to meet UCF's requirements.

  • Implement routine and preventive maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance. Establish schedules and standards for building upkeep and oversee training for maintenance and housekeeping teams.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in housing operations, facilities management, or a related field, focusing on custodial services and basic maintenance for large-scale residential facilities.

  • 3+ years of proven experience in leading and developing teams, including housekeeping and maintenance staff, with strong skills in training, performance management, and team building.

  • Proven ability to effectively address and resolve complex issues, focusing on proactive solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience managing large operating budgets, including expense tracking, financial analysis, and reporting. Familiarity with auxiliary or state-funded budget processes is highly desirable.

  • Experience managing complex projects from planning through execution, particularly in facilities or housing operations, with an emphasis on time management, resource allocation, and meeting project deadlines within budget.

  • Experience in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and oversight of service providers to ensure high standards of service and compliance with contractual terms.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, assess facility needs, address service standards, and drive customer satisfaction within a residential or university environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create reports, present data, and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
