The Chaplain will provide spiritual care and counseling, sacramental functions, and resources to meet the spiritual, religious, emotional, and psychological needs of patients, families, and hospital employees. The Chaplain functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in a patient-centered culture committed to providing ...exceptional health care services, resulting in healing in the broadest sense. The Chaplain will engage others in their experience of the Sacred, being sensitive to a wide range of cultures and faiths, being respectful of spiritual or religious preferences. In a professional, competent, and informed manner, the Chaplain will affirm the dignity of each person and explore sources of strength and hope. The Chaplain understands the impact of illness and injury on spiritual well-being and seeks to remind others that persons function optimally when there is integration of body, mind, and spirit. Culture of Excellence Behavior Expectations To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following behavior expectations: Education and Experience Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree, its equivalent or higher, from an accredited school of theology Certification and Licensure Ordination and /or licensing as required by denomination and endorsement by his/her denomination Skills and Abilities Special Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, handle, finger, feel, reach, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, and kneel. This job requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Level of Supervision This position would report directly to the lead chaplain who reports to VP.
