Horizon BCBSNJ employees must live in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Delaware Job Summary: Horizon BCBSNJ seeks a self-directed Information Technology (IT) intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership. This position is responsible for documenting business and technical requirements and coordinating project activities with a team of Application Developers. Responsibilities: Work alongside a team of Application Developers with a focus on understanding requirements, identifying solutions, creating documentation, and managing project activities Collaborate with Solution Architects to define solutions for business problems Follows the Horizon's user story or business requirements documentation process utilizing the appropriate tools Coordinate the tasks of fellow teammates within an intern cohort to keep project activities on track, and report on the status of these tasks Provide systems support during testing and after go live Create training and support documentation as part of operational support Knowledge / Skills & Abilities: High School Diploma Required Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration/Management, Business & Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information System, Project Management, or related field Familiarity with system development life cycle and implementation methodologies Requires interpersonal skills including active listening in order to capture and document feedback and requirements Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail in support of project execution Requires fundamental critical thinking and problem solving skills Requires ability to quickly adapt and work in a fast paced environment Location: 3 Penn Plaza Newark NJ - Hybrid Work Schedule Schedule: 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch) Duration: 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 2, 2025 - August 15, 2025) Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
