Job Description |
The Assistant Director for Admissions assists the Director for Admissions in providing leadership to execute college-wide and team goals to enhance enrollment at
HCC. This is accomplished by marketing, recruiting, enrolling, advising, and registering students into programs at the College; managing data and application processes; assisting the Director in determining best practices and technology systems and implementation of any new systems; organizing and implementing Admissions events; ensuring progress toward strategic plan goals, helping to implement annual recruitment plans and ensuring alignment with larger goals; working directly with College personnel, prospective students and their families, the community at large, local businesses and workforce development. Other duties include managing the Admissions Welcome Desk, collaborating within Admissions on recruitment and outreach efforts for the College.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Experience |
A minimum of three years of experience in college recruitment and communication strategies or a related field, along with at least one year of supervisory experience. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
- Proficiency in Enrollment Management Systems (e.g., Slate, Banner)
- Expertise in Managing Campus CRM Platforms
- Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills
- Skills in Coordinating and Evaluating New Student Onboarding and Orientation Programs
- Capability to Plan and Assess Admissions Events Effectively
- Strong Analytical and Organizational Abilities
- Proven Ability to Develop and Execute Strategic Plans and Goals

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration or a related field, or a Master's degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs or a related field
- Previous experience working at a community college

General Weekly Work Schedule |
General work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; additional hours may be required at the request of the supervisor and based on the needs of the College. |
