THE ROLE
You will be responsible for supporting the growth of our strategic Venture Capital (VC) program, bringing unique points of view and analytical rigour while maintaining a strong bias toward action and execution. This role is at the intersection of product marketing, strategic engagement, and community building, requiring someone who can both develop vision and roll up their sleeves to make things happen. We're looking for a proven builder from the startup ecosystem who combines strategic thinking with entrepreneurial drive - someone who knows how to be resourceful, take initiative, and create tangible impact.

As the VC Engagement Strategy & Community Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing Salesforce's Venture Capital (VC) startups program through thought leadership, community-building initiatives and event execution. You will be responsible for originating high-quality leads, creating memorable experiences for VC ecosystem stakeholders, and nurturing our growing Launchpad community. This role focuses on creating scalable strategies that attract and engage founders, executives, and decision-makers in the VC ecosystem while strengthening Salesforce's position as a key partner for startups. You will also help scale the practice, contributing to strategic projects and playing a coaching and leadership role to our Associate cohort.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, scale and operate a world-class startup community program from the ground up, taking ownership of both strategy and hands-on execution to foster long-term relationships with decision-makers

  • Design and execute programmatic initiatives, including events, workshops, and curated content, leveraging Salesforce's brand to attract and engage high-quality leads.

  • Create compelling narratives, presentations, and content to position Salesforce as a critical partner for VC-backed startups and curate high-impact content (e.g., blogs, case studies) to be shared within the programs and campaigns to draw in leads.

  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to create unique, ecosystem-focused campaigns & events that highlight Salesforce's value proposition and foster meaningful connections.

  • Develop and manage event content, agendas, and speaker selection to ensure alignment with VC ecosystem priorities and Salesforce's strategic goals.

  • Produce high-quality assets, including playbooks, case studies, and demo content, tailored to VC-backed portfolio companies.

  • Enable cross-functional teams with insights, messaging frameworks, and tools to drive successful outcomes.

  • Manage and engage with the Launchpad Slack community, sharing relevant content and promoting Salesforce/Launchpad events and webinars.

  • Foster meaningful connections within the community to strengthen member relationships and build loyalty.

  • Understand the intricacies, politics, and strategies required to implement a partnership program

  • Contribute to internal and external performance reviews to assess operational metrics/effectiveness on a recurring basis with leadership

  • Own strategic projects that contribute to the overall growth and success of the Venture Capital Program

  • Mentor and guide Analysts, Associates and Senior Associates as they begin their careers at Salesforce

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, strategic partnerships, or community engagement with a focus on technology, venture capital, or startup ecosystems.

  • Strong entrepreneurial instincts with a passion for doing and creating as well as strategizing

  • Proven success in creating and executing high-impact engagement programs or communities.

  • Expertise in planning and executing successful events and marketing campaigns that drive lead generation and awareness.

  • Strong storytelling and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage with VC firms, founders, and internal stakeholders.

  • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to measure program success and inform strategies.

  • Advanced Excel and Data Management skills (or willingness and ability to learn them quickly)

  • Passion for innovation, startups, and ecosystem building, with a focus on AI, data, and cloud technologies.

  • Exposure to working internationally, both with international clients and on international teams.

  • Exceptional communication, strategic, analytical, influencing, and consulting skills, as well as a track record of thriving in complex, multi-disciplinary teams.

  • A high tolerance for ambiguity; ability to focus and deliver in a constantly evolving environment, take charge and make things happen.

  • An independent, self-starter with strong work ethic and personal drive and character qualities that match with our company's core values and inspire others to follow and act.

  • A superior ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

  • A willingness to travel on as-needed basis >25% of the time.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with venture capital ecosystems or startup environments.

  • Background in lead generation or demand generation strategies within a B2B or SaaS environment.

  • Experience scaling programs or communities within a global organization.
