Responsibilities

REPORTS TO: Director of Plant Operations

POSITION PURPOSE: To repair and maintain the hospitals physical property and plant, in a timely and effective manner, while maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Preventive maintenance of all hospital equipment and all other duties as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Electrical and plumbing maintenance and repairs.
  2. Carpentry, building repair and other duties as assigned.
  3. Preventive maintenance.
  4. Reporting and resolving and PI problems.
  5. Hospital safety.
  6. Following all hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Must be 18 years of age and be able to read and write in English. General knowledge of plumbing, electricity, wall repair and carpentry. Need to have some knowledge on how to run power tools.

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Texas drivers license

EXPERIENCE: One-year experience. Prefer experience in a healthcare setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.

* Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination.

* The ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds.

* Requires frequent pushing, pulling, kneeling, grasping, stooping, bending & climbing.

* Requires hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions.

* Requires sufficient knowledge of the use of chemicals, supplies, tools, and equipment.

* Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
