About the Job

Duties/Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Lab Manager and PIs, this person will assist with research study coordination for studies in the Minnesota Tic and Compulsivity (MnTiC) Lab at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB). Ongoing research projects in the lab include studies to better understand and improve current treatments for tic disorders and OCD in child, adolescent and young adult populations. Studies involve behavioral therapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), neuroimaging, behavioral assessments and video tasks. Time will be split as indicated below.

25% Participant recruitment and community outreach:
-Coordinate calls to recruit families to participate in research.
-Visit community clinics and service sites to recruit families.
-Attend tabled events.
-Create and use approved recruitment materials.

45% Conduct and assist with participant study screens, assessments, and study visits:
-Monitor and support participant compliance with remote data collection procedures.
-Support data collection for participant visits using multiple methods, including interviews, questionnaires, computerized tasks, neuroimaging, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (following on-the-job training).
-Order clinical questionnaires and other study materials and administer computer study tasks.

10% Data management tasks:
-Assist with setting up research team and data protocols.
-Team scheduling as needed.
-Video-based behavioral data coding.
-Protocol updating, data checking, and generating data summaries for reports.

10% Participate in trainings and lab/team meetings:
-Attend trainings regarding data collection protocols.
-Ongoing coaching and support are offered on a needed basis.
-Team meetings are necessary to keep the project running smoothly and problem solve any issues which may arise.

10% study regulatory tasks:
-Work with PI and research team to complete institutional review and clinical study administration paperwork required for our treatment/mechanism studies.
-Update forms, incorporate protocol changes, manage study monitoring/auditing visits, and meet with research teams to answer questions required by regulatory organizations.
-Maintain subject tracking documents

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
-BA/BS or a combination of education and relevant experience to equal four years.
-Experience working with diverse families, youth, and/or individuals with mental health or medical conditions.
-Experience conducting research.
-Ability to be in an MRI scan room (i.e no metal or device in the body that are not MRI safe).
-Ability to lift 10 lbs.
-Ability to stand for up to 2 hours at a time

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience conducting human subjects' research.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $22.00/h - $24.00/h; depending on education/qualifications/experiences.

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
