SUMMARY:

Responsible to ensure that Azelis Americas meets its sustainability goals. Supporting the Corporate vision while driving sustainability efforts across the Americas region. Implement Corporate policies and initiatives, promote and educate sustainability within the organization. Actively participate in meeting and improving our sustainability strategy. Understand how our sustainability vision will translate internally to our organization, our consumers, and the community at large.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Define and coordinate the Americas Sustainability projects portfolio that leads to the regions target fulfillment towards the Azelis global goals
  • Facilitate the operational communities (SustainaBizz and SustainOps) that drive the implementation of company strategy
  • Represent the Americas region as part of the Global Azelis Sustainability team
  • Take a global lead on shaping and implementing of selected key knowledge / methodology / systems topics for the Azelis group
  • Train and educate the organization on sustainability topics and practices
  • Oversee collection and validation of monthly, quarterly, and annual data to support the organizations key performance indicators regarding sustainability.
  • Promote and communicate sustainability initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Participate on internal corporate task forces to create new sustainability initiatives and goals.
  • Work in partnership with Communications and other internal teams to ensure Corporate message on Sustainability is consistent.
  • Understand the environmental and regulatory compliance issues associated with Sustainability.
  • Work with various business unites to create sustainable product portfolio's including substitutions based on applications.
  • Implement strategies and measures to reduce energy and encourage waste reduction internally.
  • Participate and represent Azelis within external Sustainability groups and initiatives.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to implement processes in key areas.
  • Partner with key principals on developing synergies within sustainability.
  • Understand the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and how company impacts them.
  • May require some travel based on business needs.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

  • Understand and adhere to/follow the department procedures and policies
  • Adhere to and support the principles of Responsible Distribution.
  • Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

It is expected that the incumbent follow established company policies and consult as needed a superior when problematic situations arise with potential impacts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certificate or Masters degree in Sustainability an asset.
  • Degree in chemistry or related discipline preferred
  • In-depth knowledge about the sustainability landscape in North and South America is preferred.
  • 3-5 year experience in a Sustainability management role preferred.
  • Ability to guide stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to balance interests in a multinational matrix setting, and to bridge between regional interests and global framework
  • Excellent project / program management capabilities
  • Trustworthy and Confident.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaboration and influential skills.
  • Excellent time management and priority setting skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong presentation skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
