As a Medium Voltage Electrician, you will be responsible for technical and skilled duties involving the maintenance, repair, and operation of electrical power distribution systems and associated equipment with a voltage below 23,000 volts. A key duty of this position will be installing and maintaining transformers, switchgears, and standby generators. You will also repair and replace underground cables, identify and troubleshoot problem areas, and install and maintain electrical machinery and equipment within the buildings and facilities at Fort Indiantown Gap. You can expect to clean, test, adjust, repair, and replace electrical control equipment such as air and oil circuit breakers, switchgears, transformers, cables, synchronous motors, and other electrical equipment. Additionally, you will ensure work is performed under the appropriate safety guidelines and correct or report any incidents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment. 37.5 hours per week.
• Work hours are 1st shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime as needed.
• This is an essential position. You will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Five years of journey-level experience in the electrical trade; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.

• You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• Formal training (high school or vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical program) in the electrical trade
• Experience as an electrician
• Licensure as a journey electrician or master electrician
• Experience working with generators
• Previous experience working from construction sketches, diagrams, and/or blueprints in the electrical trade
