Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services (LAITS) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to assist with the operations of a unique service department dedicated to creating, maintaining, and promoting technology within the largest college at The University of Texas. This fixed-term position is expected to be fundedthrough August 31st, 2025.

This position is part-time with a 30 hour/week work schedule.

Purpose

This position will coordinate with UT instructional staff and LAITS project and studio staff on the creation of online courses and other multimedia projects, independently creating assets such as graphics or marketing materials. The role will require technical design/production/studio knowledge, organizational skills, communication skills, dependability, and the ability to quickly assess and correct issues.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Graphics, Project Management, Video, and Audio teams to produce design materials, advertisements, graphics, and media content for faculty and staff from the College of Liberal Arts and other university clients.
  • Provide technical assistance to student employees including teaching new skills and software as needed.
  • Work autonomously and efficiently on asset creation, graphical design, and/or other production needs for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Project manage design projects and facilitate client communication and satisfaction.
  • Create and communicate reports on projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 1 year of professional experience in graphics design.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in setting goals, supervising projects, making deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Workday, Slack, and Harvest.
  • Strong working knowledge of Basecamp.
  • Experience using and running Zoom meetings.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design.
  • More than two years of experience in a graphic design studio with an expertise in photo editing.
  • Experience as an Art Director.
  • Experience in graphic design for online education and online courses.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma and WordPress.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with HTML/CSS.
  • Strong Background in the visual arts (fine arts, graphic design, studio arts)
  • Strong working knowledge in designing media tailored to an academic audience.
  • Experience working on marketing campaigns for digital and physical advertisement strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team or crew.
  • Professional customer service and support skills.
  • Experience overseeing or training student workers or interns.
  • Post-production experience including web development, UI/UX designing, and graphic design.
  • Experience creating daily work plans.
Salary Range

$30,750 (based on a 30 hour work week)

Working Conditions
  • Work location is on the UT Main Campus.

  • Personally-owned electronic devices will be required in order to communicate effectively with team members.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • May work around standard office conditions.
