Shift:Various shifts - 3 12-hour shifts per week * Base Pay Range: $19.09 or $16.95 per hour, unit specific * Shift Differentials: Additional $2.00 per hour for evening, night, and weekend shifts
MU Health Care is offering a 12-week student nurse externship for nursing students who are within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing school. This program provides an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand professional experience. Upon successful completion of the externship, nursing students may have an opportunity to continue as a senior student nurse extern and receive special consideration for graduate nurse (GN) positions. IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES * Program Start Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2025 o Mandatory Orientation: Tuesday, May 27, through Thursday, May 29, 2025, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m * Program Length: 12 weeks (10 weeks paid, 1-2 weeks unpaid vacation) REQUIREMENTS Be within one year of graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing (students who graduate December 2025, May 2026, or July/August 2026) Completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course from an accredited school of professional nursing Demonstrate a GPA at or above 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Official transcripts will be required upon offer acceptance Complete our online referencing process. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
