Job Summary:

University Housing is hiring an HR Business Partner!

This role is part of Housing's HR & Payroll team and serves as a consultative HR resource and liaison to supervisors, hiring managers, and employees throughout the Division. This professional handles full lifecycle employment activities (recruiting, hiring, job or organizational changes, separations) as well as a variety of divisional employment initiatives and programs. This is a high volume and customer service-focused role that serves a diverse group of departments.

This position is hybrid remote within an HR/Payroll department of 13. University Housing is a dynamic, 24/7 division that employs a diverse employee population of approximately 500 full time staff and 1,700 student employees. Come join our team!


Responsibilities:
Interprets, advises, and serves as a consultative resource to schools/colleges/divisions on strategy, policies, procedures, statutes, laws, and other human resources services to ensure compliance in accordance to policy and law.

  • 30% Serves as a consultative Human Resources resource and liaison. Interprets, advises on, applies and disseminates complex policies, procedures, and options to leadership and employees; and recommends best strategies according to established objectives and goals
  • 20% Facilitates and processes complex transactions and programs according to established policies and procedures
  • 5% Audits human resources reports to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • 20% Develops and implements processes and procedures for one or many various HR functions such as employee trainings, recruitments, compensation, and payroll
  • 20% Receives and responds to inquiries in-person, via email, and through various communication mediums and relays information to appropriate entities
  • 5% Contributes to the development of strategic plans and directs staff implementation of initiatives in alignment with strategic goals


Tasks:

  • Provides support and assists as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency.
  • Develops and executes divisional employment programs and initiatives.
  • Provides leadership to, training of, and coordinates the work of HR student employees.

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources (HR) or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


Qualifications:

- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant Human Resources (HR) experience required.
- 3-5 years of relevant Human Resources (HR) experience preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or the ability to obtain one of these certifications in one to two years preferred.


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

This position is partially remote. During the initial training period this position is anticipated to work approximately four days per week in-office, with the possibility of additional flexibility after the first six months.

Depending on Qualifications
This is a full-time appointment. The starting annual salary is $68,500 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.

Actual pay is determined at hire and is based on qualifications and experience. Individuals paid above the minimum rate would be expected to demonstrate the experience and required knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position in a similar environment.

Additional Information:

Primary schedule is 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Extra hours as priorities dictate. Flexibility may be available for alternate schedules that meet operational needs. Final schedule will be determined at time of offer.

This position is partially remote. During the initial training period this position is anticipated to work approximately four days per week in-office, with the possibility of additional flexibility after the first six months.
