THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 to join our team in the dynamic environment of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores! DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee, manage, and coordinate activities at state-owned Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. You will supervise shifts, engage in various sales activities such as receiving shipments, stocking products, and ensuring exceptional customer service in a clean and safe store environment. You will assign tasks to Liquor Store employees, inspect their work, and provide guidance on the proper application of policies and procedures. Additionally, you will support the general manager, who is responsible for the overall store operations, including sales, store maintenance, merchandising, cash handling, record-keeping, and other related functions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly
  • Work hours vary between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 2 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1B; or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A; or
  • Three years as a Liquor Store Clerk 2; or
  • Three years of lead or supervisory retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
