Unit Director, Pediatric Cardiac CTCU and PCICU Pediatric Transitional Care Unit Full Time 83089BR Job Summary The Unit Director for the Pediatric Cardiac Transitional Care Unit and the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit designs and oversees all nursing and administrative operations for these inpatient units. The Unit Director is accountable for the overall administrative planning and coordination of the staffing, fiscal, and material resources. In collaboration with the Director of Pediatric Critical Care Services, the Unit Director assists with the development and implementation of new programs and policies. The Unit Director serves as a role model for nursing practice and utilizes nursing and leadership theories to guide practice and clinical quality. Direct reports are Assistant Unit Directors. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $253,901 - $269,436 (Annual Rate). To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html Department Description The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) is an 18-bed tertiary and quaternary cardiac surgical intensive care unit that cares for critically ill neonates through adults with congenital heart defects. The Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (CTCU) is a 12-bed unit specializing in the care of acutely ill neonates through adults with congenital heart defects. PCICU and CTCU patients arrive through our in-house, nurse-managed Transport Team and Access Center for care that can only be provided at UCSF Medical Center or direct referrals for specialized surgical care. These patients receive care for a variety of life-threatening medical and surgical conditions. Nurses and nursing leaders are are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team on these units and learn and employ the skills necessary to maintain vital functions for these fragile children, while supporting their families through difficult times.
