Job Description:
General Description: Under direct supervision, assists in the performance of a variety of Neurophysiology procedures that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of nerve and brain disorders. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to this position. - Records and identifies various Neurophysiology data in various settings.
- After supervised orientation: obtains patient history, attaches patient electrodes and operates Neurophysiology equipment, during operation of equipment observe studies, analyzes wave graphs, makes documentations to indicate disorders, artifact, and responsible for settings adjustments.
- Cares for all age groups, sets-up and prepares patients for Neurophysiology studies, completes post study paperwork used to maintain patients files. Adheres to hospital / departmental guidelines and judgment during patient care, attends and participates in educational, departmental, and required meetings.
- Observes Neurophysiology data, and is willing to acquire new skills under direction of physicians, Nurse practitioner, manager, and technologists, including not limited to Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
- Participates in maintaining equipment and reports needed repairs to manager. Maintains clean environment including but not limited to equipment and workspaces.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: None required. Associate's degree in science or health related field preferred. Experience: 1 or more years of experience in the Neurophysiology / Neurodiagnostics, Nursing, direct patient care, or other health related field required. OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Registered/Certified Neurodiagnostics Technologist strongly preferred. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to provide outstanding patient care.
- Some general knowledge of physiology.
- Cognitive and psychomotor skills required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills that allow relaying of information in a clear, concise, and calm manner.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and physicians.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
