DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Social Services Aide, you will be tasked with transporting parents and children to visitations, ensuring safe and timely arrivals. This includes various appointments such as medical visits, therapy sessions, forensic interviews, and behavioral health consultations. Within this role, you will also provide childcare services at the agency's office, courthouse, and other designated locations. You will have the opportunity to provide hands-on practical guidance on household management skills to clients, which may involve childproofing homes for infant safety, cleaning, organizing, and pest control. Additional responsibilities include:
- Participating in Child Safety Car Seat training
- Instructing agency staff, parents, and foster parents on the proper installation and usage of child safety car seats
- Overseeing the agency's Infant Safe Sleep Program
- Distributing Pack 'n' Plays to families lacking cribs
- Scheduling routine maintenance for county vehicles and ensuring your assigned vehicle remains clean and well-maintained.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Flexible work schedule is often required due to appointments being outside of the standard work schedule.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Armstrong, Butler, Indiana, Jefferson, Clarion, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
