Physician Practice Lead

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Physician Practice Lead is responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations and management of the practice. Daily interaction with the Physician and specialists. Frequent contact with the Practice Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Development and operation of physician practice programs under the direction of the Practice Manager.
  • Collaborates and consults with Practice Manager on services, contracts and issues as needed.
  • Assists with day-to-day supervision of staff and programs.
  • Assists Practice Manager with program needs as assigned.
  • Shares responsibility for practice effectiveness and quality of services with Practice Manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate audit standards for the receipt and collection of payments for services as needed.
  • Supports manager so that regulations are being met: HIPAA, OSHA, Employment Law.
  • Works with manager to resolve any compliance issues of patients or staff.
  • Make recommendations regarding equipment and supplies needed to maintain efficient operations.
  • Promotes all aspects of quality improvement activities.
  • Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner while prioritizing work activities, continually evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
  • Able to conduct staff meetings, orient staff and/or conduct seminars for staff on new programs as directed.
  • Assists with day-to-day practice operations.
  • Acts as a back-up in the office to cover vacancies.
  • Assists as requested in the ordering/ purchasing/ stocking of all patient/clinical supplies.
  • Serves as a role model by displaying, maintaining and encouraging behavior which promotes good relations to patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
  • Must be able to communicate, collaborate and cooperate with physicians, staff and management.
  • Coordinates with the Practice Manager in the rewarding and disciplining of employees.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years healthcare experience required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and other relevant areas.
  • Health care management or supervisory experience preferred.
