The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $106,700.00 - $165,400.00

Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Affirmative Action Plan Development: Maintain and continue developing the university's AAP, ensuring it meets all OFCCP requirements and reflects its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Compliance Monitoring: Regularly review and update the AAP to ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state regulations. Prepare and submit required reports to the OFCCP and other regulatory bodies.

Auditing: Develop and lead internal auditing policies, with a focus on P&T people practices. This includes reviewing and analyzing highly sensitive data confidentially and using insights to drive continuous improvement and influence positive change within the organization.

Build Stakeholder Alliances: Collaborate with WGU Leadership and key decision-makers to gain support and alignment for change initiatives.

Training and Education: Develop and conduct training programs for faculty, staff, and administrators on EEO laws, affirmative action policies, and best practices in diversity and inclusion. Communicate these policies clearly to all university stakeholders.

Complaint Handling and Investigations: Serve as the primary contact for EEO-related concerns or complaints. Conduct thorough investigations of discrimination and harassment complaints and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on workforce data to identify trends, measure progress, and support data-driven decision-making in affirmative action and EEO initiatives.

Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the AAP and all EEO activities. Ensure preparedness for OFCCP audits and reviews.

Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about changes in EEO laws and OFCCP regulations. Seek out and implement best practices in affirmative action and diversity management.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain neutrality and calm in intense, emotionally charged situations.
  • Possess strong leadership skills that include conflict resolution, adaptability, critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, relationship building, and time management.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of EEO laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrates strategic business thinking and experience in partnering closely with senior leaders in the organization.
  • Effective in exercising good judgment and articulating the rationale for recommendations to leaders and P&T Business Partners.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of different individuals, demonstrating sound people skills and business judgment.
  • Interpersonal and communication experience, and experience building relationships at all levels of the organizations.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate plans into efficient processes, systems, and practices.
  • Skillful in interpreting data and facts and telling an effective story to stakeholders.
  • Well-versed in conducting thorough investigations related to TIX and EEO. Ensuring confidentiality and care in handling sensitive cases.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with experience in presenting ideas and influencing at a senior level in the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field
  • 7+ years of HR experiencewith atleast 6 years leading work in an Equal Employment Opportunity capacity
  • Experience working directly with an organization's senior leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of EEO laws, affirmative action requirements, and OFCCP regulations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification desired
  • Deep experience with employment laws and regulations from multiple states
  • Extensive and practical in EEO, Title IX, and Title VII

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds at times.

Position & Application Details

Full-Time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40 standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and flexible spending account; basic and voluntary life insurance; disability coverage; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and flexible paid time off for rest and relaxation with no need for accrual, flexible paid sick time with no need for accrual, 11 paid holidays, and other paid leaves, including up to 12 weeks of parental leave.
