This position has the primary responsibility of creating long-term strategic relationships with an appropriate supply base to support meeting the financial objectives of the overall business. The incumbent is responsible for leading cost control and cost reduction activities associated with the acquisition of finished goods, machinery & equipment, spare parts & services to support the Southwire SCR Operations. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supplier selection, contract negotiation, bid analysis, issuing purchase orders, reporting analysis, & system training. This position will also be heavily focused on process improvements, lean strategies and maintaining a positive working relationship with the supplier network and internal customers including cohorts from all levels of the organization. While this role has no direct reports, this person will be working with peers to influence, motivate and drive continuous improvement activities related to the purchasing function for the department. They should know what good looks like and have experience implementing best practices and come with a desire to learn and a bias for action.
