Pay

$26.55-$32.44 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Plus $2.00 / hr. shift premium for 3rd shift hours

3rd Shift Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. (Other days and hours as needed)

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Packaging Mechanic to join our Maintenance Department team.

  • Preventive maintenance, general repair of all process equipment
  • Perform equipment setups and changeovers for packaging equipment
  • Failure diagnosis, trouble shooting, and repair of packaging equipment in a multi-skilled environment
  • Provide technical assistance to production
  • Rebuild equipment and components on a routine basis
  • Modify process equipment when necessary to improve performance and reliability
  • Participate in training programs in order to enhance and maintain personal technical skills
  • Operate all packaging equipment, tools, vehicles and computers necessary to trouble shoot or repair the equipment
  • Keep maintenance records
  • Communicate effectively with other technicians and personnel in order to efficiently work as a team to repair and maintain all process equipment
  • Purchase and maintain all tools on the tool list and more tools if necessary
  • Clean up after yourself and maintain a clean and sanitary maintenance shop and toolbox
  • Perform any other tasks necessary to the efficient production of a quality product as needed or when asked by your supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience maintaining automated industrial equipment or equivalent formal technical training and work experience
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronics controls
  • Exercises personal safety on the job and demonstrates a commitment to the safety of others and our products
  • Possess above average mechanical, electrical and electronic aptitude
  • Be self-directed, self-motivated, industrious, creative, and have the desire to help others excel
  • Willing and able to work in a team environment
  • Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Practices good personal hygiene and keeps a clean work area
  • PC literate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in general industrial maintenance
  • One (1) year experience with metal fabrication
  • Experience in installing automated equipment
