We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Compliance & Control to join our Risk & Compliance team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL - ONSITE/HYBRID In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Under direct supervision, contributes to the overall governance and annual completion of the BNY New York State Department of Financial Services Part 504 Regulatory Program
- Performs the administration of an annual NYSDFS Part 504 Certification process, which ensures the business units are in compliance with standard regulatory and policy requirements
- Create and maintain a detailed NYSDFS Part 504 Project Plan that includes the associated tasks, responsible owners, dependencies, project timeline
- Provide weekly updates to the NYSDFS Part 504 Project Plan
- Analyzes results of documentation and activities and can make risk assessment to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Performs drafting of documentation for policies, procedures and/or processes
- Performs projects and program tasks intended to enhance the firm's compliance with regulatory programs to further the team's agenda
- Manages and oversees the end-to-end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue/risk identification and tracking, and other project documentation preparation for projects of high complexity.
- Builds working relationships with line of business/business partner and legal entity managers in order to facilitate the timely delivery of information and increase the likelihood of favorable conditions for compliance activities
- Work with a broad array of stakeholders across US and International Legal Entities to address governance matters and manage day-to-day activities related to managing the program
- Organizes and keeps meeting notes of recurring meetings, forums, councils and committees
- Prepares most non-complex reporting related to the program
- Performs training activities by educating US/International stakeholders on the compliance initiatives centered around Transaction Monitoring/Sanctions as it relates to the NYSDFS Part 504 Program
- Provides support to stakeholders to answer regulatory inquiries about compliance with the program
- Works on other compliance governance objectives for the team as required
- Works with Compliance Testing, Quality Assurance and Internal Audit teams and at times regulatory examiners to evidence compliance of the NYSDFS Part 504 certification program.
- Escalates issues to more experienced professionals. No direct reports
- Contributes to the achievement of team objectives
- Role can offer stretch opportunities into other areas of Financial Crimes Compliance
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in business management or related field is required
- Preferred experience: Minimum of 3 -5 years industry experience out of which minimum 2 years of Financial Crimes Compliance/Sanctions and/or Transaction Monitoring experience.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and the ability to understand compliance policies and process assigned tasks in accordance with procedures.
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Good analytical skills capable of identifying, collating and distilling relevant information
- Focused attitude to work with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring attention to detail, and high level of accuracy.
- Superior interpersonal and communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize and balance competing, time sensitive demands.
