We seek to hire a faculty member with proven experience in K-12 and higher education, who can teach in-person and on-line, and can effectively observe and mentor students through their clinical experiences (Capstone and Practicum classes). We are looking for a superb teacher who inspires students and will advance the University's commitment to diversity. The Associate Director will coordinate the placement of students in their classroom experiences across Colorado, build K-12-Mines connections, and co-lead, with the Teach@Mines Director, new forward-looking strategic initiatives that are critical to the future of STEM education and the role Mines graduates can play. Candidates should also plan to support outreach and recruiting efforts, Teach@Mines advising, and participate in curricular innovations and continuous assessments and improvements for the program.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Teach Math/Science/CS Teaching Methods and/or Teaching Practices classes.
  • Mentor and observe students (graduate and undergraduate) during their Capstone, Practicum, and Student Teaching and facilitate the assessments and documentation required for licensure by the State of Colorado.
  • Advise students in the minor, major, and non-thesis M.S. in STEM-education.
  • Educational evaluation for mandatory reporting and educational program development
  • Support events and recruitment
  • Program communications and administration
