Mesilla Valley Hospital is a 120-bed facility, providing access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible to run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including: hiring and interviewing staff, administering/researching pay, coordinating benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Generalist is responsible for coordinating new employee Orientation and providing assistance to the Human Resources Director in carrying out all professional levels of planning to support the goals and objectives of the Facility. The Human Resources Generalist is also responsible for providing clerical support, maintaining all evaluations, licensures, and insurances. In addition, the Generalist will run the daily function of the HR department including hiring and interviewing staff and assisting with the enforcing of Facility policies and procedures.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and/or four (4) years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in a health care setting required. Clerical and computer experience and good customer services skills required. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and other office software programs. SHRM-CP/PHR a plus.

SKILLS:
Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads essential. Also requires attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation of requestor information and updating database high volume workload in a fastpaced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations a must.
