Job Description

The RN Coordinator contributes to the department's operational excellence by ensuring the nursing professionals deliver quality care that is evidence based practice and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and the Synergy Professional Practice Model. The position contributes to excellence through professional nursing practice and facilitation of team member development and learning of patients and families. In collaboration with the Clinical Manager, the RN Coordinator is the co-owner of the orientation program and provides competency training and education to team members with a goal of improving patient outcomes and patient safety. The RN Coordinator provides relief to the emergency nurses as needed and is assigned direct patient care as necessary. The position is responsible for staff education and feedback based on documentation and observations. The RN Coordinator is responsible for unit orientation and contributes to 90 day and annual performance evaluations of team members.

Responsibilities

  • Executes responsibilities of the RN Coordinator while aligning with established goals and strategic plans.
  • Works with others (e.g., patients, families, healthcare providers) in a way that promotes/encourages each person's contributions toward achieving optimal/realistic patient/family goals.
  • Involves intra- and inter-disciplinary work with colleagues and community.
  • Facilitates learning for patients/families, nursing staff, other members of the healthcare team, and community including both formal and informal facilitation of learning. Supports the ongoing process of questioning and evaluating practice and providing informed practice; creates practice changes through research utilization and experiential learning.
  • Co-owns the orientation program and provides competency training and education to team members with a goal of improving patient outcomes and patient safety, in collaboration of department leadership. Provides relief to the emergency department nurses as needed and is assigned direct patient care as necessary.
  • Supports staff education and feedback based on documentation and observations.
  • Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient. Demonstrates leadership behaviors in a professional manner.Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
  • May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.


Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse Licensed - State of Florida or eligible compact state
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • ACLS Provider (ACLS)
  • National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH)
  • PALS Provider (PALS)
  • Non-violent crisis intervention (CPI)
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC)
