Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Dermatology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Temporary Research Assistant, under the direction of the PI, is to engage future dermatology prospects in an intense research and to publish the research.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Researches and learns various dermatologic issues both at different locations.
- Composes and submits a manuscript for publication.
- Sees patients at an offsite location when not researching with the Principal Investigator.
- Maintains the essential records and files for the research projects and investigations.

Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires a bachelor's degree in biology or other relevant scientific field.

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
- Physical Demands: Position requires standing for a long duration of time, and walking the facility, sitting, use of the hands to finger, handle or feel, talk and hear 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms over 1/3 of the time, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl under 1/3 of the time. Position requires lifting 1/3 of the time up to 35 pounds in order to dispose of Laboratory sanitary waste and lift laboratory equipment.
- Work Environment: Moderate noise environment with some exposure to blood borne pathogens requiring the use of personal protective equipment; some potential exposure to bio-hazardous materials and chemical waste.
