Groundskeeper

Staffmark, in collaboration with one of the largest funeral, cremation, and cemetery providers in the country, is seeking an experienced Groundskeeper in Houston, TX, to perform all grounds keeping and maintenance matters on the properties and maintain the overall appearance of the cemetery, mausoleum and funeral home location. Pay: $15-$19 per hour

1st Shift Hours: 8 am - 5 pm

*We ask that candidates who apply be available and willing to work overtime as required

Essential Functions:

• Performs tasks of grounds maintenance requiring the knowledge of the use and general maintenance of mechanized equipment including lawn equipment (weed eaters, walk-behind mowers, hedge trimmers, edgers, pruners, leaf vacuums/blowers, etc).
• Setting up and completing interments and entombments to include but not limited to excavating the grave to the proper level, assisting with the lifting and placing the casket on a lowering device, and removing, replacing, and lifting crypt and niche fronts.
• Correctly identifies the location of specified interment/entombment spaces within the cemetery on cemetery maps.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of related experience; a valid state-issued driver's license (and acceptable driving record); strong analytical, time management, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; detail-oriented; knowledge of the use and general maintenance of mechanized equipment; ability to frequently reach, push, pull, stand and lift 50 pounds.
