About the Role:

As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you'll join our dynamic Finance and Accounting Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Safety National's success by preparing accurate and comprehensive financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team and interact with various departments, ensuring the integrity of financial statements while working on Statutory (STAT), GAAP, and IFRS bases.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:



  • Prepare journal entries and analytical reports during the monthly close process.
  • Contribute to the development of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, disclosures, and management presentations.
  • Conduct research on STAT, GAAP, and IFRS accounting principles, keeping up-to-date with industry changes.
  • Assist in preparing components of the annual budget.
  • Support other accounting functions, including transaction processing, account reconciliation, and system enhancement testing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and other stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A self-starter with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Eligible to sit for the CPA exam
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and technologies.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • IFRS experience is a plus
  • PeopleSoft is a plus
  • CPA designation is a plus

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
