Summary:

UNC Hospitals Rehabilitation Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Center for Rehabilitation Care in Chapel Hill, NC. This full-time position will focus on providing high-quality care for patients with pelvic health conditions and lymphedema across both pediatric and adult populations. Our clinic prioritizes 60-minute, one-on-one treatment sessions to ensure personalized, patient-centered care, which allows for optimal outcomes and strong therapeutic relationships.

The ideal candidate has an interest in both pediatric and adult pelvic health and lymphedema rehabilitation. Pediatric experience is preferred but not required. Additionally, this position provides the opportunity to engage in mentorship, ongoing professional development, and the possibility of participating in our women's health residency program.

Key Benefits of Joining Our Team:

  • Diverse Patient Population: Work with a broad range of patients, from pediatric to adult populations, focusing on pelvic health and lymphedema rehabilitation. This includes patients from both typical and underserved communities, enriching your professional experience and cultural competency.
  • One-on-One Patient Care: Provide 60-minute individualized treatments, ensuring personalized, high-quality care that allows for optimal patient outcomes and meaningful therapeutic relationships.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Collaborate with experienced therapists and participate in mentorship opportunities, continuing education programs, and the potential for involvement in the women's health residency program. You will also have the opportunity to mentor students and residents, contributing to the development of future professionals.
  • Community Impact: Our clinic offers resources such as a food bank, and many clinicians go beyond their role to assist patients with housing insecurity, transportation, and other barriers to care. This work allows you to make a tangible difference in the community by addressing unmet patient needs and disparities in healthcare access. You can also engage with the community through outreach initiatives and advocacy efforts.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Conduct evidence-based evaluations and provide comprehensive treatments for pelvic health and lymphedema conditions in both pediatric and adult populations.
  2. Diagnostic Testing: Perform diagnostic tests as needed to assess patient conditions and inform treatment plans.
  3. Mentorship & Education: Provide supervision and education to graduate Physical Therapy students and clinical fellows/residents, contributing to the development of innovative care programs.
  4. Clinical Evaluation: Regularly assess diagnostic and therapeutic test results to modify treatment plans as needed, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients. Facilitate communication among interdisciplinary teams for continuity of care.
  5. Community Involvement: Serve as a clinical resource and participate in outreach initiatives that focus on underserved populations. Engage with community programs such as our food bank and advocacy committees to promote health and wellness.
  6. Professional Participation: Actively contribute to departmental meetings and training sessions, supporting the quality and consistency of clinical care within the department.
  7. Quality Improvement: Maintain detailed patient records and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.
