Overview

The Operations Director is responsible for establishing and executing company strategy related to domestic freight movement through an understanding of industry trends and best practices. Recruit, develop and motivate staff to provide a world class customer experience and meet or exceed client expectations. Ensure the company has the necessary tools in place to succeed and expand their business levels in multiple verticals within a sustained fashion. Work with current and prospective logistics services providers and internal teams to develop the best overall strategy. Execution of those strategies includes establishing, measuring, and managing to applicable metrics with service providers, AIT vendors and internal AIT functions to ensure timely and efficient flow of product for AIT Truckload Solutions. Strong support of external & internal AIT customers is a must.



Responsibilities

    Develop and execute the operations strategy for AIT Solutions. Manage P&L to ensure financial goals and budgets are met and develop short-term actions to address any budgetary shortfalls
  • Work collaboratively with sales, key account management and other AIT's team to ensure excellent service execution and reliability
  • Develop and implement customer service strategy including KPI measurement
  • Accountable for the professional development of direct reports to ensure proper goal setting, training and project requirements are met.
  • Provide operations teams with daily guidance & leadership as it relates to general leadership, communication, human resources, margin management, revenue opportunities and process standardization & execution.
  • Continue to build rapport with clients and work to develop new opportunities and create / manage key visual tools and tracking processes. Build strong customer relationships promoting account retention
  • Ensure processes and metrics are in place to ensure growth, service and profitability goals are accomplished
  • Manage and communicate with AIT's operations, driving accountability while demanding value and service
  • Confirm providers meet and adhere to the SLA and agreed terms of service
  • Exhibit strong negotiating skills and execution in Carrier Agreements
  • Ability to track performance and develop strategic processes and proactively improve efficiencies and reduce lead time lanes
  • Actively support key account operation requirements and insure service execution and reliability
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards


Qualifications

Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, Business Administrations, or related field (Required)

Experience
* 15+ years experience in logistics and freight forwarding (Required)
* 10-15 years experience in logistics management and and team management (Required)
* 5-7 years experience in operational Profit and Loss Statement (P&L) management of products and services (Required)
