Job Description

The Manager, Product Intelligence and Support is responsible for overseeing the policies and practices for gathering research on market conditions, competitors and consumer trends. Manages a team to review changes to the marketplace and industry and adjusts marketing plan accordingly. Manages and directs the product pricing functions for the retail bank, supporting loan and deposit pricing for the Consumer/Business teams. Analyzes and presents gathered research to sales, product and channel management, and senior leadership. Manages channel operations functions for assigned digital product lines across the division. This role manages product operations managers, pricing managers and customer/competitor insights analysts in support of divisional objectives and directly impacts the P&L of the division.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will lead and direct product pricing strategy for consumer/business banking.
  • You will manage staff to execute pricing strategies, ensuring competitive pricing and bank profitability.
  • You will represent the division on the product pricing committee, presenting strategies, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • You will manage competitive market intelligence, providing quarterly insights on industry trends to the Consumer Leadership Team.
  • You will work cross-functionally with various departments to enhance competitive position through effective strategy analysis.
  • You will lead Product Operations managers to support, implement, manage risk, and ensure product compliance.
  • You will direct staff, including product operations managers, pricing managers, and insights analysts, handling usual managerial duties.
  • You will guide the team's strategic objectives, communicate upper management directives, and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in a business related field and 10+ years experience in product management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of marketing principles including product management, development, and positioning.
  • Thorough knowledge of product suite and advanced knowledge of applicable consumer banking laws, banking regulations and industry compliance issues
  • Advanced knowledge of consumer/small business banking products and services in area of responsibility.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork; including the ability to foster/manage relationships across multiple departments and affiliates in all states.
  • Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills to effectively handle projects in a fast-paced, high volume, and deadline intensive environment.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills including database analysis, spreadsheet analysis, advertising, and research
  • Proven ability to present and explain technical information in a way that persuades others and gains understanding
  • Excellent problem solving abilities; ability to spot patterns quickly and calculate various scenarios
  • In-depth knowledge of project management, resource management practices and change management techniques
  • Familiar with SQL concepts.
  • Advanced PC application skills including Word and Excel.
  • Six Sigma or other Business process mapping skills and experience a plus
