Responsibilities

Position Overview

As an Associate Therapist, you will work under the supervision of a licensed clinician to assess, plan, and provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary setting with other PrairieCare clinicians, delivering comprehensive treatment to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy for assigned patients, under the guidance of your clinical supervisor.
  • Diverse Patient Care: Work with adults of all ages with mental illness, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Collaborative Coverage: Offer collaborative coverage for other associate therapists and therapists across various treatment teams and settings as needed.
  • Interdisciplinary Contribution: Bring your unique training perspective to the interdisciplinary team, supporting the clinical lens in enhancing patient care.
  • Path to Licensure: Work towards independent licensure by meeting board requirements and maintaining an active relationship with your clinical supervisors. We provide 4 hours of supervison a month!
  • Skill Development: Build skills in differential diagnosis, treatment goal development, and intervention strategies.
  • Continuity of Care: Collaborate with treatment team members and referring providers to ensure seamless continuity of care for patients.
  • Engagement in Team Activities: Participate in case conferences, treatment team rounds, and required training seminars to enhance your clinical skills.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain clinical records in compliance with PrairieCare policies and regulatory standards, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
  • Educational Background: Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Associate level license (LAMFT, LGSW, LPC) in the State of Minnesota, with a commitment to accruing clinical supervision and experience towards independent licensure.
  • Passion for Learning: A strong desire to learn about and immerse yourself in intensive levels of mental health care.
  • Knowledgeable: Understanding of regulatory standards governing care delivery and operations.
  • Effective Communicator: Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Ability to react quickly and calmly in stressful situations, making effective decisions as needed.
