POSITION SUMMARY: Our Reliability Simulation and Testing team is seeking a co-op student to join us for an 8-month work term. In this role, you will be responsible for the completion of static & dynamic finite element analysis tasks. This will include all related design and analysis activities, calculations, with an emphasis on technical test report writing. The goal is to simulate more and physically test less, where practical with a strong importance on first time quality releases.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensures engineering designs and design changes are analyzed and validated to meet Industry and NFI Group product standards.
  • Assists the team with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and 2D analysis on both new and existing designs. Analyzes results, prepares detailed reports, and collaborates with designers to refine and improve products, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Collaborates with designers to develop validation plans, order parts, and perform tests, as well as managing external contractors.
  • Completes test reports in a timely manner and with a high level of integrity ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
  • Reviews testing plans with group leader for priorities and schedule attainment.
  • Work directly with all facets of the organization to provide engineering support to suppliers, production, purchasing, quality assurance, customer service and other departments as required.
  • Conduct fatigue life estimations using simulation.
Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Electrical post-secondary engineering program.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal).
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
