Job Posting: Mid-Level Geophysicist/Geologist

Location: Hunt Valley, MD, Remote

Salary: $60,000 - $90,000, based on experience

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and skilled Mid-Level Geophysicist or Geologist to join our team in support of Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) projects and advanced geophysical surveys. This role will be based in our Hunt Valley, MD office and offers opportunities for professional growth, travel, and collaboration with a dedicated team across multiple office locations.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in developing technical approaches for geophysical investigations and remediation efforts, particularly for MMRP proposals and projects.
  • Conduct and supervise data collection using conventional and advanced geophysical sensors (e.g., EM61, APEX, UltraTEM).
  • Oversee and mentor field teams during geophysical surveys to ensure data quality and adherence to protocols.
  • Perform daily quality control (QC) tests on geophysical equipment, documenting results.
  • Process and analyze geophysical data using software
  • Review and QC geophysical data collected by field teams and subcontractors.
  • Prepare technical reports and geophysical investigation plans.
  • Conduct anomaly reacquisition with geophysical sensors, Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS, and other positioning equipment.
  • Perform site visits to collect data and contribute to the development of technical approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards.


Qualifications:



  • Required:

    • BA/BS in Geophysics, Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
    • 1-5 years of experience in geophysics, preferably with at least 1 year in MMRP or similar investigations.
    • Proficiency with geophysical data acquisition, processing, and analysis, particularly using electromagnetic and magnetic sensors.
    • Familiarity with RTK-GPS and Robotic Total Stations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing technical reports.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites for extended periods.


  • Preferred:

    • Experience with Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC) methods and equipment.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with Geosoft Oasis Montaj and Visual Sampling Plan (VSP) software.
    • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and First Aid/CPR certifications.



Professional Geologist (PG) license or the ability to obtain one, or the pursuit of a similar certification (e.g., Project Management Professional, PMP).
