Job Description:

Job Title: Mid-Level Geologist
Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications

EA is seeking a Mid-Level Geologist to join our team in Sacramento, CA. In this role, you will support CERCLA investigations providing field and drilling oversight and environmental sampling. You will be responsible for managing field and technical document preparation efforts at the task level with the expectation that you will progressively move towards management at the project level. You will also mentor junior staff and work collaboratively with a dynamic multi-discipline team to meet project goals.

Specific Duties:



  • Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance, training, and review of planning documents, field activities, data generation, and reports for ongoing investigation, monitoring, and remediation projects.
  • Technical Review: Prepare and review planning documents, field notes, boring logs, analytical data, and reports for technical accuracy, relevance, and completeness.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project team members and subcontractors (such as laboratories, drillers and surveyors) to implement quality control measures and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Contribute to the development of strategies for analyzing field data and generating comprehensive, accurate reports for clients.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Geology, or a related field. Masters and being on track for professional registration as a geologist in California are preferred.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental/geotechnical consulting or related work.
  • Training: Must be OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER trained or able to complete this training upon hire. Enrollment in a medical monitoring program for CERCLA related work will be required.
  • Technical Skills:


    • Strong proficiency in technical writing, with experience in preparing and reviewing detailed technical reports.
    • Experience assessing analytical data and interpreting results for environmental investigations.
    • Hands-on experience with environmental drilling and multimedia field sampling, including soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, and air.
