Market Strategy Specialist - Banking Modernization

Overview:

Opportunity to become a member of the Sales Growth Office, a key support team comprised of market and product expertise whose mission is to innovate how we position ourselves in the market, how we use commercial ingenuity to set ourselves apart from our competitors, and how we sell solutions that bring unparalleled value to our clients. This team simplifies the engagement across internal and external partners to accelerate solution selling adoption, expand our opportunity through lead generation, and enable sales success.

The Market Strategy Specialist is responsible for positioning FIS as an industry leader, leveraging domain expertise, knowledge of FIS solutions and your influence in the market. Responsibilities include supporting sales activities with executive level interactions, providing a holistic view of the FIS strategy for the banking segment. Leveraging your network to identify opportunities and work with the product teams on changing market requirements. Support the sales team with insights into the sales motion and buying behaviour of the client. Present the FIS strategy at industry events and promote FIS capabilities in the banking segment to market influencers, consulting firms and partners. Assist with our GTM activities and the performance for banking across the various market segments in terms of pipeline generation and sales results.

The Market Strategy Specialist will focus on evangelizing and consulting with our key clients and prospects as a trusted advisor creating playbooks and roadmaps for modernization of their business and technology ecosystem to achieve near- and long-term objectives. This encompassing core, data, integration and channels.

Responsibilities:

Sales Engagement

  • Managing the sales interlock with team(s) that support the specific industry or industries. Supporting sales activity including attending meetings, qualifying deals, training sellers, presenting trends to C-suite.

Business Strategy

  • Interlock with Segment strategy team to ensure clients' and sellers' views are fully conveyed.
  • Present the market's view to the strategy team.

Solutions Management

  • Works very closely with the LoB solutions managers
  • Ensures solutions meet market needs.
  • Influence roadmap.
  • Ensures alignment on market positioning / appetite.

Marketing

  • Support the development of messaging and positioning. Collaborate on campaign strategy and focus.
  • Speak at industry and client events/conferences.
  • Review lead generation from campaign/event and support the qualification process.

GTM

  • Collaborate with the Growth team to prioritize and formulate complete GTM plan.
  • Support relevant product launches, define the addressable market(s) where applicable.

Sales Engineering

  • Provide "big picture" solution-based approach.
  • Bring in presales after qualifying key opportunities - help coordinate across multiple products / services to ensure single buying experience from client perspective.

Experience required:

  • 10+ years industry experience
  • 5+ years selling experience
  • Strong grasp of competitive landscape in the industry
  • Deep relationships within key institutions in the industry
  • Experience working with and at global consulting firms in the Financial Services Modernization practice
  • Proven track record of involvement in events / conferences/ articles / media
  • An understanding of FIS product and service offerings that are relevant in the market
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven C-level engagement experience
  • Ability to create and shape market facing messaging and positioning.

Beneficial experience:

  • Strong relationships within FIS Business Units
  • Broad knowledge of FIS products and services
  • Collaboration with FIS' Go-To-Market team and marketing channels for lead generation
