Sr Eng Specialist - Proj Eng Specialist

The Sr Eng Specialist role involves information analysis, systems analysis/implementation, and project management.

Essential Functions

• Leading the evaluation and implementation of manpower, systems, and corporate projects to reduce operating expenses, increase revenues, and enhance customer service
• Developing and implementing operating plans, conducting studies, and preparing data for analysis by engineers and operations
• Leading the transformation of business processes and operational tools to achieve global excellence
• Designing and delivering technical training to personnel through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions in areas such as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, and cost-effectiveness
• Leading communication roles between operations and corporate departments to provide technical and local expertise related to corporate or department initiatives and operations
• Leading the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of short and long-range plans, including expansion, new products, procedures, GSE, sort equipment, regulatory governmental agencies, and manpower needs
• Developing plans for efficient package volume distribution to ensure optimum facility utilization
• Leading projects to ensure suppliers and hired professional services comply with policies, procedures, and governing authorities, and that all documentation complies with FedEx requirements and processes
• Monitoring, analyzing, and recommending ways to improve productivity, service, and cost performance
• Leading and serving on special study teams established to investigate and implement projects related to improving total corporate or operational productivity and performance
• Leading research, evaluation, and recommendations of emerging technologies, business and management techniques, philosophies, and methodologies
• Leading projects and studies in support of corporate objectives
• Leading the planning and organization of assignments, priorities, schedules, and activities for initiatives as required by the size, complexity, and urgency
• Leading the development of project and communication plans, and project status to stakeholders
• Leading the development of requirement specifications, solution design, system development and testing, and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Leading studies designed to implement sound, innovative concepts into operations, systems, and customer solutions to produce benefits for FedEx and its customers
• Evaluating capital and expense requests and the annual and long-range budget processes
• Leading the development of operational and project budgets based on recommendations for cost savings
• Leading the collection, analysis, and reporting of financial and operational indicators for corporate and departmental initiatives
• Preparing and presenting business justifications in support of the funding approval process
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in computer science, math or quantitative discipline.

Minimum Experience

Six (6) years of related experience.

Some travel required.

Preferred Qualifications: N2.0 Day One Team. FXE Station experience recommended. Ability to work iterative processes to establish "Day One" service area for stations, and ensure plans meet facility capacities, service requirements, and forecasted growth projections. Full zip code alignment between Op Cos. Day One parameters are established for each phase. This position requires strong analytical skills and ability to use ArcGIS Pro to run VRPs incorporating established PUD models (SSP and Geo-Split)

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
